    Harvest Inspired Curb Appeal

September 23rd is the official start to the Autumn Season.  Living at the Jersey Shore provides you with a variety of fall festivals, farmers markets and everything apple cinnamon and pumpkin spice.  Lawns and front porches are decorated with colorful mums, bales of hay as porch posts are given a rustic look with burlap wrapped c0rn-stalks.  The seasonal scene backdrops create valuable curb-appeal when marketing your home in the Fall.  Consider curb-appeal as the initial impression you make on a potential buyer.  How do you want them to react when they park in front of your home?  A well-manicured and tastefully decorated landscape will get the prospective buyer from the driveway to the doorbell.  Additional exterior elements contributing to curb appeal include the physical condition of the roof, siding, paint, pathways and the front door.  Before the harvest-inspired decorating, a little touch-up paint and power-washing goes a long way.  Once your home is ready for its big debut, it’s time to invest in quality photos to properly showcase the new and improved look.

  • Open House Schedule: Weekend of 9/21-9/22

Open House Schedule: Weekend of 9/21-9/22

There are many benefits to attending an open house.  First, buyers have an opportunity to realistically see what they can afford in the housing market.  Second, you will have the opportunity to ask your real estate related questions to a licensed realtor.  Third, you will be able to drive through the neighborhood or perhaps walk the community to see if it feels like home.  Finally, you will learn more about your needs with regard to amenities once you actually preview homes.  For instance, after visiting several single family homes, you may decide you actually prefer a townhome, where maintenance such as lawn-care and snow removal is included.  Now that I’ve convinced you to attend a few open houses this weekend, here are some tips on etiquette.  You may be asked to remove your shoes or wear shoe guards, which should be provided by the agent.  Be sure to follow the “sign-in” instructions and introduce yourself to the realtor.  If other perspective buyers are present, respect their privacy and give them some space.  Here is a list of Open Houses scheduled for this weekend (9/21 and 9/22)…have fun!  Be sure to check this blog again for updates as more towns will be added by the end of this week…
